Gentle Sivananda Hatha focuses on connecting the mind, body & breath helping the body maintain a natural healthy state. Each class starts with pranayama & meditation to prepare for the asana practice, we then work our way through variations of the 12 basic postures that seek to increase strength, flexibility, proper breathing, and ease in meditation. We finish with a beautiful guided relaxation to allow all the beautiful prana/energy we have created to be absorbed by the body and a lovely ‘Om’. Suitable for all, especially beginners or those wanting a more gentle practice.
We all have to start somewhere and I provide a friendly fun environment to learn the basics of yoga over a 6 week course, we dispel some of the myths of yoga. You don't need to be flexible, you don't need to be strong, you don't need to be able to meditate for hours on end. My class introduces a gentle, kind yoga practice and we learn a little of the yoga philosophy as we go along. As a sivananda trained Hatha teacher we will be working on four of the five principles of yoga, which help to calm the mind.

The fifth principle of yoga is proper diet, for safety reasons we will not be eating and exercising :-)

Private 1:1 Yoga Classes
1:1 classes can be tailored to your physical & emotional requirements, I can either come to your home (for an extra fee) or you can come to my therapy room, mats, props, bolsters etc. will be provided. Please contact me on 07957 540365 to discuss your requirements.
All classes except for private 1:1 classes can be booked and paid for up to 6 weeks in advance using the link below. You will be asked to complete a short medical questionnaire when booking for the first time.

What to bring
We have all of the equipment and mats you need. Bring yourself, comfortable clothes and some water.
All classes must be pre-booked and paid for in advance on this website. It is not possible to book on arrival at the Studio as there are no reception staff.
Cancelling your booking and no shows
We operate a 6 hour cancellation policy for classes - if you cannot make a class, please make sure you re-schedule it via your account online to free up the space for another customer. Please note you will not be refunded for cancelled classes, please use the re-schedule button to change the date/time of classes.
Courses and workshops
Courses & workshops cannot be cancelled or refunded - once you have made the purchase you have committed to the payment.
Arrival and lateness policy
Arrival - Please arrive 5 minutes early. We ask you to arrive no more than 10 minutes early because there is no waiting area in the Studio.
Lateness policy – You are unable to take part in a class if you are more than 5 minutes late. After this time, the Studio door will be locked and will mean you can no longer enter. You will not receive a refund if you are late for a class or you fail to show for a booked class – the cancellation policy will come into effect.
Shoes – We operate a no shoe policy, so please take your shoes off and put them back on at the mat at the entrance to the studio.
